First Family, Rev. Marvin & Joyce Fields
Rev.
Marvin Fields. Biographical Sketch
Rev.
Marvin Fields is the son of Deacon & Deaconess Thomas Fields. He
received his education in New York and is a graduate of William
Cullen Bryant High School. He married the former Joyce Harrison.
To this union 2 Children were born. Rev. Duane Fields Sr., and Marquita.
1 daughter in-law Sheree, and 3 grandchildren, Duane Jr., Destiny
and Jordyn.
Pastor
Fields accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 18 at Evangel Baptist
Church in Laurelton, New York. He became a Deacon in 1973, and was
licensed As a minister in 1979. While presiding in New York as a
minister, Rev. Fields has held various titles such as, A State Representative
Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor and Interim Pastor. He joined Second
Mount Zion Baptist Church in May 0f 1989.
He
furthered his education at Queensboro Community College, majoring
in Sociology and completing course work in Theology. Additional
courses in Theology I & II and seminars at Baptist Bible College
in Clark Summit, PA. He is a Chartered Representative of the boyscouts.
He is the Treasurer of The Caroline County Ministers Conference.
He is employed at the Department of Correctional Education in Culpepper.
Pastor
Fields has incorporated many new programs into the Second Mt. Zion
Ministry. Tuesday night New Convert Class, Wednesday night Bible
Study for Adults and seniors, Thursday night Bible Study for the
youth 3 - 21, Deacon Visitation Program, Wednesday night Computer
Class, Young Adult Sunday School Class, Youth Spring Revival, Film
Night, Bowling, Girlscouts, Boyscouts, and Revelation group. We
have had close to 300 souls saved in return.
